About

Ever had a mission … a cause … that you couldn’t let go of no matter what people said or did? That’s me. My mission is to help build the church of Jesus Christ by making disciples of the people in my spheres of influence focusing on the local church as well as helping people use technology in support of the Great Commission.

Ministry History

Currently, I’m the pastor of High Peak Baptist Church in Valdese, NC. We’re a small church in the central western North Carolina about 90 minutes northwest of Charlotte and an hour east of Asheville off I-40. I’ve been pastor here since January 2007. See our church’s YouTube site to watch past worship services.

Before coming to High Peak, I served Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church in Dallas, NC and Evergreen Baptist Church in Delway, NC. My first church was Blanket Creek Baptist Church in Falmouth, KY.

Writing Ministry

About 12 years ago I began to write for Christian Computing Magazine covering Digital Bible Study and other church related tech topics. It’s now called Ministry Tech Magazine with the same focus on Bible study software and Bible apps for computers, tablets and smartphones. Sometimes I branch out and cover church tech.

Writing online and at CCMag/Ministry Tech led to an opportunity to write for GottaBeMobile.com and Notebooks.com, a pair of tech blogs focused on mobile technology and notebook computers. This allows me the opportunity to stay abreast of modern tech so that I can also help the church use technology to “Make Disciples of All Nations.”

Lately, I’ve begun writing for Church Tech Today, a great site for church technology.

I’ve also published articles in Preaching Magazine, iPhone Life and a few other ministry journals and blogs, including the WORDsearch Bible Software blog.
