Accordance Adds Interlinear Tool Catching Up to Logos and WORDsearch
Accordance Bible Software updated their excellent Mac Bible study software to version 9.5 with one primary new feature – a great Interlinear tool. This catches them up to Logos and WORDsearch, both of which have similar Interlinear tools that focus on the English text and let Bible students work backwards from the English and move to the original language. They are often called Reverse Interlinears, the name both Logos and WORDsearch use.
Accordance adds a new button to the toolbar just above the Bible text. Place a check mark next to the word Interlinear and then click the Show button to customize what you can see and can’t see in the Interlinear.

The available options you see will depend on what tools you have installed. For example I can add the various parsing tools like Key, Lemma, Lemma Transliteration, Word, Word Transliteration, Tag and Syntax. I don’t have the right tools to be able to see the part of speech so it’s grayed out. I can also add other translations and the Greek or Heberw text. Tha last two links in the drop down let me manage my presets. If I save a set of options I can save it with a new name and it will show up in the Manage Interlinears dialog box that pops up when I click that item.
This kind of interlinear helps you quickly get at the original language especially if you are not a good student of the original languages. I’m somewhat proficient in Greek, but my Hebrew is horrible.
I really like the ability to add not only language tools but other translations. As you can see above, I can add the ESV with Strong’s, HCSB with strings, KJV with Strong’s and NASB 95 update with Strong’s. That’s something you can’t do with the other companies’ reverse interlinears.
As an Accordance user I’m happy to see this update. Of course, fans of Logos and WORDsearch will simple say, what took you so long?!

As a long term Logos user and fan, I was delighted to see this feature not only implemented, but implemented with style and power.
