Here is My Latest Sermon

It has been awhile since I uploaded any sermons.  But here is my latest message from my series I am preaching on “Building a Happy Home.”  This was number three on the subject of Marriage.

One of Several New Photos

Originally uploaded by kerussojc.

I just added some more pictures. Here is one of the best. I actually took this one outside a restaurant. They had some flowers in small patch right next to the road. The rest of the pictures I added are from a trip we took to the park along the Catawba River. We had a nice time as Barb interviewed for a job in Burke County Schools this morning. To see the others either click the flower or the “photos” link above.

Biblical Preaching Blog

I found an interesting blog about preaching that I wanted to mention. It is called Biblical Preaching and on this site, two preachers share their thoughts about preaching, review books on preaching and generally discuss homiletics. I found their stuff to be interesting enough to add a link to my Blogroll along the right.

Here is a picture I took today, while we were enjoying the boardwalk behind a restaurant on the Catawba River. Some other pictures I took can be viewed at my flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kevinpurcell/

One of My Favorite Pictures

This is one of my favorite pictures. I took this of my church’s steeple.

I then adjusted some of the color and brightness and then I dodged the steeple.

eBible for WordPress plugin

If you run a WordPress blog like I do (this one and my church’s at www.HighPeakChurch.com) then you are likely looking for ways to either spice it up or make it look and function better. Thanks to the help of eBible.com and their WordPress plugin you can do just that. It lets you add a plugin to your blog so that when you have bible passages it will customize them automatically for you. For example. If you type in John 3:16 into the editor, then it will find that for you and let you display it. You can tell it to make it like a mouse over popup which is how I have it configured. Or you can make it automatically turn it into a hyperlink. There are other possibilities too.

Read more about it at the eBible.com blog page. It is only a beta right now. So beware!
