I am very fortunate to be able to play around with the 2nd beta of Laridian’s PocketBible for iPhone and iPod Touch.  I know you can’t tell much from the imagepicture below, but that is by design because we are not supposed to be saying much right now.  But it is too cool to not post something.  Not sure when the folks at Laridian will be releasing this, but even in beta it is very stable and while there are a few  little nitpicking details that I think they will fix, it is as good as some of the released software I’ve used.  So, if you are looking for an iPhone Bible program, this one is likely going to be it.

I have tried some of the other programs out there like Olive Tree’s iPhone reader, one called Mantis and a few others.  But I don’t think they measure up even as complete programs.  When it is finally released I will do a full review and comparison here and possibly in Christian Computing Magazine if my editor lets me.  We are primarily a PC based mag, but I’ve done mobile stuff before.
