Personal Information
I am a pastor, husband, father and a writer.
As a pastor, I have been preaching for over 20 years and serving as a pastor for 15 years. I am currently pastor of High Peak Baptist Church in Valdese, NC.
My wife is Barb Purcell and she is a teacher. Our two boys are great and we love them. The crazy thing is they might actually love us.
Writings
Beside from serving High Peak Baptist Church I also have done a little writing. Here are some of the things I’ve written.
Preaching Magazine
In the July/August 2007 issue I had a short sidebar article entitled, “Ways I Improved My Preaching Without Saying a Word.” The gist of it was how to use visuals and multimedia to help your preaching expository sermons. It is not available online, but you can order the issue at Preaching’s Online Site.
Christian Computing Magazine
I have a regular column in Christian Computing Magazine called “Higher Power with Kevin” which you can read for free each month. I suggest you subscribe at Christian Computing Magazine.

I am currently very happy to be the Pastor of High Peak Baptist Church in Valdese, North Carolina. I am not seeking a position at this time so this information is for you to understand where I have come from and where I am going in my walk as an author, pastor, father, husband and person.
